Job Summary
Mow, rake, water, weed, mulch, prune, plant, and fertilize landscapes at Recreation Centers of Sun City locations. Dig holes, mix and pour concrete, clean sidewalks and roadways, and lift objects up to 50 pounds. Operate machinery including chain saws, mowers, tractors, and blowers; assist with irrigation installations, repairs, and lawn bowl board fabrication. Record maintenance data accurately and operate handheld moisture meters. Work Monday through Thursday from 6am to 12pm or Friday until 11am, meeting at a central location before dispersing. Requires a valid Arizona driver's license, ability to hitch trailers, and experience adjusting electronic irrigation timers.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate various types of machinery and tools including, but not limited to, chain saws, riding and walk behind mowers, verticutters, lawn rollers, tractors, top dressers, moisture meters, trimmers, blowers, pole saws, vacuums, jack hammers, chemical sprayers, mechanics hand tools, shovels, picks, wheel barrows, hoes and brooms
- Experience in adjusting electronic irrigation timers for watering, or familiarity with it
- Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds and to seek help and/or provide assistance to others with any object(s) over that weight
- Ability to work in all types of weather
- Able to hitch and unhitch trailers, and pulling equipment or utility trailers safely
- Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid Arizona Driver's license
