Job Summary
Conduct vegetation management for utility partners by clearing debris and pruning around power lines. Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, and sprayers while assisting climbers with spotting, tool handling, and rigging. Safeguard colleagues and the public from hazards, apply herbicides with certification, and manage traffic control zones. Maintain clean trucks and job sites, then travel frequently including overnight stays to different locations. Participate in safety briefings and follow all company protocols. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, lifting up to 50 lbs, hiking uneven terrain, and enduring extreme temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Groundperson certification (or ability to complete)
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physical ability to hike, lift up 50 lbs., and handle tools
- Valid driver's license
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Herbicide applicator certification (or ability to complete and maintain)
- Team player attitude
- Adaptability
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height or higher
- Ability to push or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk or hike up to one mile on uneven terrain
- Ability to hear, speak, see, and communicate effectively
- Ability to operate two-handed tools and equipment
