Job Summary
Conduct vegetation management for utility partners by clearing debris from work sites around power lines, operating chainsaws and chippers, and assisting climbers with spotting and rigging. Safeguard colleagues and the public from hazards while applying herbicides with proper certification, maintaining clean trucks and job sites, and setting up traffic control zones. Travel frequently, including overnight stays, to different job sites while participating in safety briefings and following all company protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Groundperson certification (or ability to complete)
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physical ability to hike, lift up 50 lbs., and handle tools
- Valid driver's license
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Herbicide applicator certification (or ability to complete and maintain)
- Team player attitude
- Adaptability
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height or higher
- Ability to push or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk or hike up to one mile on uneven terrain
- Ability to hear, speak, see, and communicate effectively
- Ability to operate two-handed tools and equipment
