Job Summary
Groundsperson position in Chase City, VA focused on ground-based vegetation management for electric utility projects. Responsibilities include clearing brush and trees with hand tools and power saws, loading/unloading logs, feeding debris into a brush chipper, setting up and breaking down road signs, flagging traffic, operating a truck or other equipment as assigned, performing basic maintenance on trucks/equipment, upholding safe practices, and assisting with storm restoration duties. Must possess physical strength and balance for uneven terrain, outdoor endurance in varying weather, ability to hear instructions, CPR/First-Aid readiness, PPE usage, and a valid driver’s license; willingness to travel for storm work and adhere to I-9 employment requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or education equivalent preferred
- First-aid certification and CPR
- Driver’s License if hired for a driving position
- Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed
