Job Summary
Groundsperson needed for 2nd shift at Birdsboro Quarry to support production and maintenance. Must be safety-focused, action-oriented, detail-oriented, and capable of effective teamwork. Responsibilities include performing work per MSHA and H&K Safety policies, site maintenance, maintaining clean work areas, learning plant functions, cross-training to cover multiple roles, and taking direction from site personnel. Loader when necessary; ability to substitute for other plant jobs; able to work in outdoor conditions and lift up to 50 pounds. CDL not required. The role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills and adherence to safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- One month of related experience and/or training
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills including ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
