Job Summary
Perform plant maintenance and support production during the second shift at Birdsboro Quarry. Maintain clean work areas including catwalks, walk-ways, and general plant areas while following MSHA and H&K Safety policies. Proactively learn plant functions and operations, cross-train to substitute for other jobs, and work in a team with all site personnel. Obtain all knowledge to complete assigned tasks and take direction from supervisors. The role requires one month of related experience, strong communication and mathematical skills, and the ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE. Candidates must meet physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in outside weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- One month of related experience and/or training
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills including ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
