Groundsman / Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary
Groundsman responsible for safely operating heavy equipment in pit/mining settings, with potential to transition to heavy equipment operator. Requires 50%+ travel, teamwork with co-workers and Foreman, daily pre/post inspections, basic equipment servicing, and training of less-experienced staff. Must follow OSHA/MSHA procedures, maintain safe work environment, perform general labor as needed, and adhere to shift requirements (nights/weekends) with willingness to travel, overtime, and outdoor, temperature-exposed conditions. The role emphasizes safety, communication with hand signals, PPE usage, and ability to inspect and maintain equipment, while supporting project tasks and obeying company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Two to Five years’ experience in loader operations preferred
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Pass a pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical
- Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document
- Willing to travel and work away from home when required
- Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
- Report to work at the designated start time
- Able to work overtime when required
- Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures
- Wearing PPE as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA
- Past experience in construction/mining environments
