Job Summary
Oversee daily grounds operations for Rivier University, supervising a team of four groundskeepers and assigning work assignments. Coordinate subcontractors for quality service delivery, conduct daily inspections to identify gaps, and assist with mowing, trimming, weeding, and seasonal cleanup. Manage irrigation systems, plan snow removal activities, and operate equipment including lawn mowers and tractors. Maintain inventory, train staff on performance and safety, and use inspection reporting systems to track operational updates. Ensure grounds meet client expectations and contractual requirements while collaborating with university stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, horticulture, facilities maintenance, or a related field
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or directing employees in an outdoor maintenance environment
- Working knowledge of irrigation systems, grounds maintenance practices, and landscape equipment
- Experience operating and maintaining lawn and groundskeeping equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer technology
- Ability to review inspection reports and communicate operational updates
- Experience managing employee performance, coaching, and disciplinary processes
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and perform physical work throughout the shift
- Availability to work Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM, with flexibility for weather-related events and snow removal operations
