Job Summary
Prepare spray solutions and apply pest control, fertilizer, and agricultural treatments across the Northern Quest Resort & Casino property using handheld sprayers and heavy machinery. Maintain equipment calibration, operate snow removal tools during off-season, and manage chemical storage while documenting application records for Washington State regulations. Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations during operations. Provide on-the-job training to new staff and travel between the primary worksite and nearby stores for supplies. This year-round role requires a current WSDA applicator license, four to five years of pesticide handling experience, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Possession of a current and valid WSDA applicator license
- 4 to 5 years of experience handling pesticides in similar roles
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and application practices
- Ability to identify lawn or plant diseases to determine the appropriate course of action
- Ability to operate motorized and power equipment as needed to complete required tasks
- Ability to follow written instructions and product labels
- Functional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when required by business needs
- Ability to maintain consistent, regular attendance
- Valid driver's license and insurability if operating a Tribal vehicle
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain, slopes, and rough ground while carrying equipment
- Ability to perform repetitive movements, including lifting, carrying, spraying, and operating equipment throughout the workday
- Ability to wear and work in required PPE, including respirators, gloves, eye protection, and protective clothing, for extended periods
- Regular travel between the primary worksite and nearby properties to perform job duties
- Occasional trips to purchase supplies or equipment will be needed to nearby stores (less than 30 miles away)
- Drug free workplace (subject to drug testing at the time of hire and at unannounced times during employment)
- Subject to a background investigation
