Job Summary
Monitor property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance and perform regular garden maintenance tasks such as pruning, weeding, fertilizing, and watering. Mow, edge, aerate, and fertilize lawns while operating a variety of landscaping equipment and tools including mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, tillers, and power tools in a safe and efficient manner. Install, adjust, and repair irrigation systems and conduct seasonal garden cleanup tasks such as leaf removal, debris clearing, snow removal, and winterizing. Perform general maintenance duties such as cleaning walkways, fixing fountains, and applying plaster, and prepare grounds for events by setting up and taking down equipment. Communicate with supervisors regarding property needs and adhere to industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- minimum of two years landscaping or groundskeeping experience
- training in landscaping or groundskeeping
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong knowledge of pest management
- basic lawn maintenance
- working knowledge of horticulture
- Excellent organizational skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to self-monitor for quality, safe, effective work
- Ability to safely operate equipment
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work long hours
- Ability to work in a variety of outside conditions
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must have a valid driver's license
