Job Summary
Mow and detail all district grounds, including athletic fields, while watering, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, and controlling weeds. Operate tractors, riding mowers, power tools, and hand tools to plant shrubs, prepare fields for games, and repair school roads and parking lots. Transport workers and equipment throughout the district, inspect tools for safety, and perform preventive maintenance. Collect refuse, assist with sprinkler system repairs, and relocate furnishings as needed. Work outside in extreme temperatures, lift up to 50 pounds, and travel districtwide. Substitute as a building custodian or perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to read and understand written instructions
- Ability to communicate (verbally)
- Ability to operate tractor and landscaping equipment
- Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to pass alcohol and drug test
- Acceptable driving record as verified by the Texas Department of Public Safety annually
- Frequent districtwide travel
