Job Summary
Complete grounds work as directed, including picking up trash, cleaning dumpster areas, blowing parking areas, power washing, and trimming vegetation. Thoroughly clean breezeways by removing cobwebs, mopping floors, and wiping down doors. Execute basic landscaping tasks such as watering plants and monitoring irrigation systems. Assist in preparing make-ready units by removing trash from vacant apartments. Conduct proactive preventive maintenance activities to uphold property quality and report supply needs to supervisors. Document all maintenance activities and communicate clearly with residents and team members. Assess property safety standards and maintain shop organization.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to walk, stand, climb stairs or ladders and access various areas of the property
- Must be able to push or pull items and reach overhead
- Must be able to bend, stoop or kneel
- Must have dexterity of hands and fingers and ability to grasp tools
- Must be able to see to identify plants, weeds and pests and read computer screens
- Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
- Must be able to hear to detect sounds indicating potential issues, such as machinery noises or alarms
- Must be able to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to operate various maintenance tools such as mowers, trimmers, blowers and irrigation systems
- Must be able to use mobile devices and applications for work-related tasks
- Flexible schedule including weekdays, nights, and weekends (including Saturdays and Sundays)
