Job Summary
Perform a variety of tasks relative to the day-to-day maintenance of landscaping, grounds, roads, walkways, trash removal, recycling, and equipment maintenance. Safely operate, use, and maintain standard yard tools and grounds power equipment, including riding mowers, zero turn mowers, and snow blowers. Maintain plants and grounds through mowing, trimming, planting, seeding, fertilizing, weeding, and irrigating, while assisting with pressure washing, mulching, and leaf clean-up. Keep roads, parking lots, and sidewalks clear of ice and snow by plowing, shoveling, and spreading salt and ice melt. Serve as primary relief for evening, night, and weekend Security/Watch staff and Transportation Staff. Must possess a valid operator's license, significant experience with heavy outdoor equipment, and the physical ability to walk long distances, dig, shovel, and lift heavy weights.
Required Qualifications
- knowledge of, interest in, and/or a desire for a career in plant science, horticulture, landscape design, tree care, turn management and plant care procedures
- valid operator's license
- insurable with Kendal's insurance carrier
- well organized
- capable of producing quality workmanship
- significant experience using heavy outdoor equipment for lawn care and snow removal: riding mowers, zero turn mowers, salt spreaders, etc.
- physically able to walk long distances, dig, shovel, climb, bend, push, stoop, pull, crawl. lift and carry heavy weights and operate grounds power equipment, etc.
- significant experience with snow & ice control and removal
