Job Summary
Maintain all lawns, athletics fields, plantings, trees, and paved areas of the Porter-Gaud Campus using hand or power tools and equipment. Operate all landscape maintenance equipment safely while adhering to applicable safety regulations and department rules. Support special events by assisting with table and chair setups, erecting tents, and performing grounds maintenance post-event. Work independently and efficiently outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and cold, with flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended summer hours across three campuses. Requires a valid SC Driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and 2+ years of landscape maintenance experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to follow directions
- Must be able to operate all landscaping equipment in a safe manner
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Be able to work in adverse weather conditions
- Must be able to work efficiently and independently
- 2+ years experience in landscape maintenance or landscape construction
- Valid SC Driver's license and acceptable MVR
- Must be able to work when the School is closed which may include holidays, weekends and extended hours in summer
- Availability to attend events at any/all of the three Porter-Gaud/O'Quinn campuses, during both regular and off work hours is required
- Must sign our code of conduct
- All employees are subject to extensive background check screenings
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilization, and herbicides (preferred)
- High School Diploma preferred, but not required
