Job Summary
Groundskeeper / Maintenance Technician position at Vermejo Park Ranch (Raton, NM) handling general maintenance, repair, and operation of ranch buildings, infrastructure, equipment, vehicles, and landscaped grounds. Responsibilities include inspecting and servicing utility systems, carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, refrigeration, SCADA, basic electrical repairs, vehicle maintenance, water-treatment monitoring, landscaping, irrigation, seasonal landscape improvements, snow removal, on-call emergency maintenance, facility cleanliness and safety, and collaboration with other departments. Requires hands-on maintenance work, operating tools and equipment, and a high level of safety. Must have a high school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of relevant experience, plus the ability to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license and proper employment documentation. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended shifts, and to perform physically demanding tasks in an outdoor ranch environment.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in facilities maintenance, construction, landscaping, groundskeeping, ranch operations, or related skilled trade
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience safely operating hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, landscaping equipment, and utility vehicles
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call, and extended hours
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
- Documentation establishing identity and employment authorization within three days of hire
