Job Summary
Groundskeeper at Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH. Maintain landscaping on Main and South Campuses (seeding, mowing, pruning, weed control, irrigation, plant care, and decorative grounds). Perform snow and ice removal from parking lots and walkways, operate small equipment, and conduct routine PMs on vehicles and yard machinery. Coordinate with Plant Operations and participate in staff meetings while supporting a safe, outdoor-centric work environment as a full-time day-shift role.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least six months or one season performing related groundskeeping work. Home yard work is not qualifying experience unless it is for a very large and detailed landscape.
- Must have knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and minor repair of tractors, cultivators, edgers, power lawn mowers, and other typical groundskeeping equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors most of the time; may work in adverse outdoor conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and be mobile.
- Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.
- State of Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license. Commercial driver’s license preferred. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
- Ability to read and understand simple oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of emergency codes.
- Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment. Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
- Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.
