Job Summary
Groundskeeper performs maintenance of university grounds and landscapes, operating groundskeeping equipment, planting, pruning, fertilizing, irrigation setup and repair, and routine landscape maintenance. Maintains logs of watering and chemical applications, inspects plant material for pests and disease, and assists with safety and campus infrastructure maintenance including lighting, signage, and facilities upkeep. Must read and follow work orders, apply chemicals properly, and comply with safety protocols; requires a valid driver’s license and prior groundskeeping experience.
Required Qualifications
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
- At least two years of experience in groundskeeping is required.
- Possession of a public pesticide applicators license is preferred.
- An associate degree in horticulture or a related field may be substituted for the two years of experience required.
