Job Summary

Respond to assigned departmental maintenance needs and assist mechanics with equipment repair or replacement. Maintain facility grounds including lawns, trees, parking lots, and trash collection while operating hand and power tools for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and painting repairs. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and daily cleaning of assigned areas, referring requests beyond scope to a mechanic or contractor. Adapt behavior to the patient population by respecting privacy and communicating clearly. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards to ensure compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license from state of residence
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and professionally
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications
  • Various software packages specific to role
  • Keyboard skills
  • Range of skilled crafts including plumbing, electrical, HVAC and lawn equipment
  • Working knowledge and experience using hand and power tools

  • Ability to operate hand and power tools necessary for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and painting repairs
  • Ability to perform general repairs and mechanic duties
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and inspections
  • Ability to perform daily cleaning of assigned areas
