Job Summary
Entry-level Grounds Specialist responsible for maintaining cemetery/funeral home grounds, including mowing, snow removal, landscaping, and assisting with openings/closings for interments; operates a range of grounds equipment; follows safety and regulatory procedures; may assist with cremation-related duties under supervision; requires teamwork, physical fitness, and basic computer/email use.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months relevant experience in landscaping, general construction, warehouse, or physical labor
- Funeral industry experience preferred
- Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment (shovel, rake, sledgehammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower)
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Physically agile and dexterous
- Ability to communicate effectively with associates, contractors, and client families
- Basic computer skills to enable email communications
- Ability to operate equipment safely
