Job Summary
Mow grass, plow snow, water lawns, fertilize, and trim shrubs while operating push and power mowers, snow blowers, and leaf blowers. Remove debris, inspect work areas, and maintain standards for cemetery, mausoleum, or funeral home locations. Participate in interment team openings and closings, assist in grave layout verification, and perform minor repairs to building systems. Maintain inventory and comply with federal and state cremation regulations under supervision. Follow safety rules and OSHA guidelines while working outdoors in all seasons, lifting up to 50 pounds, and adhering to a fluctuating schedule as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum (6) months relevant experience in landscaping, general construction, warehouse, physical labor demonstrating steady employment
- Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment, including, but not limited to a shovel, pick, rake, sledgehammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer and leaf blower
- Ability to accurately use measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, yard-stick, etc.)
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Physically agile and dexterous
- Ability to operate equipment in a safe and careful manner
- Ability to effectively work with others to accomplish tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively with associates, contractor personnel and client families
- Basic computer skills to enable retrieving and responding to email communications
- Ability to lift, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds
- Ability to comply with Field dress code policy
- Ability to work frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per day
- Ability to climb stairs to access buildings frequently
- Ability to work outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions
- Ability to work beyond standard hours as the need arises
- Ability to work schedule fluctuations to an earlier or a later shift
