Job Summary
Grounds & Maintenance Worker at Storm King Art Center responsible for mowing with riding/push mowers, trimming around trees/sculptures, pruning, planting nursery stock, fertilizing and watering trees/plants, snow removal, and off-site work as needed. Responsibilities include operating light equipment and machinery, maintaining workshop/tools, performing routine maintenance to keep grounds and equipment operational, assisting with conservation/support for sculpture installations and exhibitions, documenting maintenance with reports/photos, and supporting general site repairs as needed. Must have at least 3 years of grounds maintenance or landscaping experience, operate provided machinery/tools, and hold a valid NYS driver's license. The role is full-time, outdoor, on-site at Storm King Art Center, with overtime/weekend requirements and a boot allowance. The position is represented under a CBA and offers comprehensive benefits. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with seasonal variation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping
- Valid NYS Drivers’ License
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Ability to lift/move up to 90 lbs and perform heavy physical labor in all weather conditions
