Job Summary
Supervise a team of four Groundskeepers, assign daily work assignments, and coordinate subcontractors to ensure quality service delivery. Conduct daily inspections of completed projects, identify safety concerns, and support irrigation system maintenance while planning snow removal activities and seasonal cleanup. Operate groundskeeping equipment including mowers and tractors, maintain inventory, and train employees on performance and safety protocols. Utilize inspection reporting systems to track operational performance and collaborate with university stakeholders to maintain campus standards. Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with flexibility for weather-related events.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, horticulture, facilities maintenance, or a related field
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or directing employees in an outdoor maintenance environment
- Working knowledge of irrigation systems, grounds maintenance practices, and landscape equipment
- Experience operating and maintaining lawn and groundskeeping equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer technology
- Ability to review inspection reports and communicate operational updates
- Experience managing employee performance, coaching, and disciplinary processes
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and perform physical work throughout the shift
- Availability to work Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM, with flexibility for weather-related events and snow removal operations
