Job Summary
Grounds Maintenance Operative responsible for grass cutting, strimming, hedge and shrub cutting, litter picking, and herbicide spraying; inspects and maintains playgrounds and play equipment; records work and reports issues. Based at Blackburn depot, 37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 7:30-15:30, Fri 7:30-15:00); driving license required; starts with a salary of £25,878 and comprehensive benefits including pension, holidays, and charitable housing association environment. Desirable skills include operating mowers, hedge trimmers, loppers, pole-saws, chainsaw, and strong customer-service orientation to interact with residents and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- A full manual UK driving license
- Practical experience of working in a grounds maintenance environment
- Practical knowledge of and ability to operate Grounds Maintenance equipment and machinery
- Experience working in a customer orientated environment, able to deal with members of the public firmly but sympathetically
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy to enable accurate record keeping
