Job Summary
Maintain common grounds, athletic facilities, and school district properties by repairing fences, sidewalks, and parking lots. Operate large equipment including tractors, trucks, skid steers, and loaders to mow grounds, trim trees, and remove snow from sidewalks and drives. Perform daily and annual maintenance on grounds vehicles and equipment. Provide active communication with students, staff, and community members while representing the school district professionally. Work a varied schedule with overtime required for stadium events, snow removal, and other necessary events.
Required Qualifications
- working knowledge of all phases of ground maintenance
- responsible attitude towards the job and fellow workers
- ability to operate and maintain tractors, trucks, other large equipment and small engine repair
- knowledge of athletic field construction, layout, turf management, and irrigation systems
- State of Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship certification for core manual and herbicide application in Category #6 Right of Way
- Commercial Drivers License Type B permit with air brake endorsement
- Commercial Drivers License Type B with air brake endorsement licence
- driving record satisfactory to the District and the District's insurance carrier
- pass pre-employment commercial drivers license drug test
- excellent physical condition
- ability to pass the Physical Capacity Profile tests
