Job Summary
Assist the Senior Horticulturist in maintaining and developing Sydney Zoo grounds, including push mowing, brush cutting, and weeding. Support operational teams as required to ensure the overall presentation and smooth operation of the Zoo. Work cooperatively in a busy outdoor environment while following clear instructions and safety procedures. This role commences as soon as possible and requires proof of double COVID-19 vaccination prior to commencement.
Required Qualifications
- A passion for working outdoors and a willingness to learn
- Basic gardening fundamentals (ie. push mowing, brush cutting, weeding etc)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role including working in hot or inclement weather conditions
- Physical ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
- Willingness to work cooperatively as part of a team and follow clear instructions from supervisors and experienced team members
- Basic awareness of Workplace Health and Safety and willingness to always follow safety procedures
- Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions
- Positive attitude toward working in a busy outdoor environment
- Working with Children's Check
- Proof of double vaccination status
