Job Summary
Plan and layout carpentry construction work, including framing, drywall installation, carpet and ceiling repairs, and door hardware. Execute minor masonry and concrete tasks while reading blueprints and generating bills of materials. Direct Carpenter II and maintenance helpers, oversee outside contractors, and maintain a safe work environment through compliance with safety and quality policies. Requires a Top Secret security clearance, four years of carpentry experience, and ability to operate power tools. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions
- Possess thorough knowledge of the carpentry trade
- Must be able to operate power tools and machinery as required
- A willingness to work shift if necessary, including days, evenings and nights as well as overtime, weekends and holidays as required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four years' experience in the carpentry trade or building maintenance
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship, vocational or internal developmental program for a journeyman carpenter
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to write correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in a one on one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
- Active Top Secret clearance
