Job Summary
The Grounds and Maintenance Specialist performs manual labor, groundskeeping, and maintenance for cemetery grounds and facilities, including mowing, trimming, edging, planting, tree/shrub care, facility maintenance, burial-related setup, and transporting equipment. Responsibilities include operating tools and equipment (mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, tractors, dump trucks), performing routine equipment maintenance, setting up tents and chairs for services, keeping work areas clean and organized, following safety protocols, and maintaining records of work performed, hours, and supplies. Must work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbs. Emphasis on safety, efficiency, and quality upkeep of historic cemetery properties.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to operate various groundskeeping tools and equipment safely
- Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and accept feedback
