Job Summary
Entry-level Underground Groundman responsible for construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de-energized underground electrical distribution systems. Responsibilities include setting pad mount transformers, performing basic rigging and knot tying, identifying voltage on circuits, installing/removing services and transformers, bucket rescue/escape, climbing various structures, adhering to PPE and safety protocols, and working outdoors in diverse weather. Requires ability to travel, obtain a CDL permit within 60 days, and lift over 50 lbs; overtime and extended hours may be required.
Required Qualifications
- No experience required
- Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment
- Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required
- Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required
- Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs
- Able to properly inspect rubber goods and PPE
- Willing to work overtime when requested
- Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position
- Able to read/write and communicate effectively
