Job Summary
Conduct new construction, maintain, and repair underground electrical distribution systems, including installing conductors and related hardware. Operate and maintain excavation equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, and excavators while adhering to strict safety protocols and PPE standards. Perform rigorous physical labor outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind. Work outages, storms, and emergencies on an on-call rotation, often outside normal business hours, weekends, and holidays. Travel long distances on short notice for out-of-state assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days
- Willingness to travel long distances on short notice
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime
- Willingness to work in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions
- Willingness to work in loud environments with moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Ability to talk, listen, and use hand signals to communicate
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle objects, operate tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms
- Comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential
- Understanding of when to wear personal protective equipment
