Job Summary
Conduct new construction, maintain, and repair underground electrical distribution systems, including installing conductors and related hardware. Operate and maintain excavation equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, and excavators while adhering to strict safety protocols and PPE standards. Perform rigorous physical labor involving lifting up to 50 pounds and communicating via hand signals in varying environmental conditions including extreme heat, cold, and storm weather. Work outages, storms, and emergencies on an on-call rotation, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, with availability for long-distance travel and out-of-state assignments. Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days
- Willingness to travel long distances on short notice
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime
- Willingness to work outages, storms, and emergencies including on call rotation
- Comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential
- Understanding of when to wear personal protective equipment
- Ability to talk, listen and use hand signals to communicate
- Ability to stand
- Ability to walk
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle objects, operate tools or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions
- Ability to work in loud environments with moving mechanical parts and vibration
