Job Summary
Conduct new construction, maintain, and repair overhead electrical distribution systems including power lines, poles, insulators, and conductors while prioritizing safety protocols and PPE usage. Perform rigorous physical labor involving lifting, carrying, and operating tools in varying environmental conditions such as extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind. Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order. Available for outages, storms, emergencies, and on-call rotation, including extended periods at job locations and travel.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days
- Willingness to travel long distances on short notice
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime
- Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather
- Availability to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation
- Ability to follow all safety protocols including PPE use and a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential
- Ability to inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Understanding of when to wear personal protective equipment
- Ability to perform rigorous physical labor
- Ability to talk, listen and use hand signals to communicate
- Ability to stand frequently
- Ability to walk frequently
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle objects, operate tools or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
