Job Summary
Dispatch taxicabs from the Terminal to the Holding Lot, Ground Transportation Area, and Loading Zone while monitoring compliance with policies and procedures. Coordinate movements of commercial vehicles and airport shuttle vehicles as directed, and provide exceptional customer service by greeting passengers, offering accurate information and directions, and directing them to appropriate taxi or limo services. Manage Loading Zone activities to ensure passenger and taxicab safety, limit congestion, and maintain surrounding work areas including glass cleaning and break room upkeep. Order luxury limousines when needed, log information on limo logs, and write factual reports regarding operational deviations or safety issues. Communicate with drivers, co-workers, and supervisors to address concerns, and identify any safety issues immediately. Work outdoors in potentially dangerous traffic situations, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs, with availability for second, third shifts, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire
- Must have an excellent attendance and arrive to work on time when scheduled
- Must have access to reliable transportation
- Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or week-ends
- Must be able to read and write English exceptionally well
- Must be able to communicate effectively with passengers, drivers, and co-workers on socio-economical levels
- Must be able to read, and comprehend simple instructions, and short correspondence
- Must be able to write simple correspondence and/or reports legibly
- Must be able to add and subtract two digit numbers
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Must be able to make sound judgments
- Must be able to apply patience when communicating with others in difficult situations
- Must be able to carry out assigned tasks and duties completely and effectively
- Must be able to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision
- Must be able to demonstrate fair and impartial judgment
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs
- Must be safety conscious at all times
- Must have and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license, with a current address and acceptable driving record, if the individual is expected to be able to drive a company vehicle or drive on company business
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of metro area is desirable
- Customer service experience preferred
- Prior airport experience is preferred
