Ground Systems Engineering Intern - Instrumentation & Control

Job Summary

Build basic models for fault scenarios activating the Hardware-in-the-Loop setup to test failure modes and automate testing and failure search. Own a smaller project by following system architect guidance and completing assigned sprint work within allocated time. Collaborate with engineers across multiple departments, participate in team meetings, and contribute innovative ideas to continuously improve the HITL team's tools under senior engineer mentorship.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics or comparable discipline
  • Knowledge of at least two different types of programming languages
  • Ability to work in fast paced, self-driven environment
  • Ability to find software bugs fast, using multiple approaches in parallel
  • Industrial sensoric
  • Physical understanding of systems
  • Understanding of simulation and hardware in the loop systems
  • Proven communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Knowledge of robotics and automation
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation
  • U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident, or eligible for required authorizations (for US offices)
  • Citizenship of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the European Union, or a NATO country (for NZ offices)
