Job Summary
As a Ground Hand at LJA Telecom, your main responsibilities will include performing physical labor on construction sites while adhering to strict safety procedures. You will engage in tasks like site preparation, material handling, and assisting skilled workers. Daily duties will involve vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness, loading necessary equipment, and completing tasks assigned by the crew foreman. You are expected to have a valid driver's license and a high school diploma or GED, along with the ability to lift heavy materials and equipment safely.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required
- Following all safety requirements and using appropriate safety equipment and safety procedures in performing duties
- Perform various manual tasks on construction sites, including site preparation, material handling, and assisting skilled workers
- Daily vehicle inspections – check fluids and lights
- Maintain cleanliness of the crew’s assigned company vehicle
- Load all necessary tools, equipment, and materials needed for the crew’s job assignments
- Complete all tasks assigned by the crew’s foreman
- Stay engaged and on task to increase your knowledge in your line of work
- Must be able to bend, climb, and squat to perform job duties
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds
- Must have sufficient hand and finger dexterity to safely operate tools and equipment
- Must be able to detect odors and fumes as necessary for safe work performance
- Must be able to walk, stand, and work outdoors for extended periods in various conditions
- Must have adequate hearing and vision to perform duties safely and effectively
- Must be 21 years or older to be considered for this position
- Must be willing and able to travel for project sites and team coordination
