Job Summary
Lead mechanical engineering for site emplacement of a new digitized radar system; serve as the primary mechanical engineering point of contact with frequent site travel and act as site technical lead for engineering execution, system performance, and requirements compliance. Review engineering drawings, site layouts, and mechanical schematics for accurate implementation across project phases; collaborate with design, analysis, and fabrication teams to resolve mechanical challenges and optimize installation. Manage and document mechanical site survey data, including measurements and as-built conditions; provide guidance on mechanical modifications, upgrades, and retrofits for site readiness and system compatibility. Track progress and coordinate mechanical resources to meet milestones for decommissioning legacy systems, installing temporary solutions to maintain mission readiness, and final system emplacement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- BS + 12 years progressive engineering experience, or MS + 10 years
- Strong technical judgment and ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with formal design reviews (PDR/CDR), configuration management, and risk management
- Basic understanding of radar systems and signal processing
- Active DoD security clearance (or eligibility to obtain)
- Willing to travel frequently
