Job Summary
Deputy Chief Engineer for Leidos' Ground Based Radar Digitization program, providing technical leadership across radar system design, manufacturing, and delivery; coordinate electrical, mechanical, software, and signal processing challenges with input from subject matter experts; oversee the technical baseline, risk, and requirements compliance across lifecycle stages; participate in risk and engineering review boards; communicate technical progress to senior leadership and government stakeholders; coordinate with subsystem leads, IPT leads, and specialty engineers to ensure design maturity, integration, and risk mitigation; mentor and develop technical staff to foster innovation and collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- BS + 8 years of progressive engineering experience, or MS + 6 years.
- At least 5 years supporting or leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience supporting large DoD or aerospace programs.
- Strong technical judgment and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with design reviews (PDR/CDR), configuration management, and risk management.
- Basic understanding of radar systems and signal processing.
- Active DoD security clearance.
- Resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
