Job Summary
Grossing Technician position (Part Time, Per Diem) at Sonic Healthcare USA in Rye Brook, NY. Responsibilities include gross description and dissection of specimens, specimen accessioning and labeling, describing gross anatomic features, selecting tissue samples for slide preparation, providing photographs/diagrams as needed, escalating non-routine cases to a Grossing Tech II or Pathologist Assistant, maintaining lab safety and confidentiality, and complying with OSHA and regulatory standards. Requires an Associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory technology; 1 year of lab training/experience preferred; state licensure as required by law. Shift is 3rd, per diem, with hourly rate $40.00-$60.00. Must work effectively in a team and adhere to department policies; overtime or altered scheduling may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory technology
- 1 year of laboratory training or experience in grossing preferred
- State licensure as required by law
