Job Summary
Grossing Technician in Lab Histology Pathology performing specimen processing, tissue grossing, embedding, staining, and slide preparation with CPT-code verification, maintaining specimen integrity, and ensuring accurate communication with pathologists and co-workers. Role includes routine histology duties (embedding, staining, labeling), staining setup and QC, preparation of Pap/Gyn/Non-Gyn specimens, maintaining clean work environment, and commitment to patient safety. Requires an associate degree (or 60 college hours with biology/chemistry) and HT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred; on-site full-time staffing with flexible shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or at least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry. Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
