Grossing Assistant

Prepare tissue for gross pathology by dictating specimen descriptions, cutting specimens, and loading them into processors for block cutting and staining. Register patients and specimens, assign unique numbers, and order tests tied to charges. Process surgical specimens via a frozen process to prepare samples for Pathologist analysis during surgery. Work 80 hours per pay period on day shift hours. Requires an Associate's Degree in chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology; a Bachelor's Degree with a science emphasis is preferred.
