Job Summary
Grooming Salon Leader at Petco responsible for leading salon operations and the grooming team. Deliver expert grooming services (bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, gland cleaning) while prioritizing pet safety and customer satisfaction. Lead recruitment, hiring, coaching, and performance evaluations; manage scheduling and inventory; monitor salon performance metrics; collaborate with store management to achieve sales targets and salon objectives; maintain grooming standards and ensure a positive, collaborative work environment for entry-level to professional groomers.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience as a professional groomer
- 1-2 years previous management/supervisory experience in a salon setting
- High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Expert knowledge of dog breeds and grooming standards
- Ability to work full time including weekends/evenings/holidays
- Capacity to lift up to 30 pounds and perform duties in a salon environment
