Grooming Salon Manager

Job Summary
Lead grooming salon operations and the grooming salon team at Petco, delivering expert grooming services to clients and pets. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day salon operations, recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising grooming staff from entry-level to professional level, creating and managing grooming schedules, monitoring performance metrics (revenue, customer satisfaction, staff productivity), collaborating with store management to achieve salon targets, providing exceptional customer service to pet parents, performing professional grooming services (bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, gland cleaning), maintaining equipment, ensuring safety and sanitation, and coaching team members to support growth and development. The role requires 2+ years of professional grooming experience, 1-2 years of salon management experience (preferred), and strong knowledge of breed standards and grooming techniques; an HS diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years' experience as a professional groomer
- 1-2 years previous experience of salon management, or related field, preferred
- High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required
- Expert knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming requirements, breed-specific cuts, styling techniques, and grooming standards
- Strong leadership skills with ability to lead and develop people
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with pet parents and grooming team
- Ability to work full time at a minimum of 35 per week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy
