Job Summary
Lead grooming salon operations at Petco, manage and coach grooming team to deliver expert pet grooming services (bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, styling, nail trimming, ear/gland cleaning) while ensuring safety, quality, and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and training staff; creating efficient grooming schedules; monitoring salon performance metrics (revenue, customer satisfaction, partner productivity); collaborating with store management to meet sales targets; educating pet parents on grooming maintenance and home care; maintaining hygiene and safety standards; and staying current with grooming industry best practices. Ideal candidate has 2+ years as a professional groomer with leadership interest and 1-2 years of salon management experience, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years as a professional groomer and/or completion of a technical grooming training program
- Strong leadership skills with desire to lead, train, and develop people
- 1-2 years of salon management experience or related field (preferred)
- High-school diploma or GED preferred, not required
- Ability to work full-time including weekends/evenings/holidays
- Expert knowledge of dog breeds, grooming requirements, and breed-specific cuts
