Job Summary
Lead grooming salon operations at Petco and manage the grooming salon team while delivering expert grooming services to customers' pets. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day salon operations, recruiting/hiring/training/coaching staff, creating efficient grooming schedules, monitoring revenue and customer satisfaction metrics, collaborating with store management to achieve sales targets, and ensuring the safety and well-being of pets. Perform professional grooming tasks (bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, gland cleaning) and adhere to breed standards and company policies. Maintain a clean, safe grooming environment, manage grooming tools and inventory, and provide guidance on grooming maintenance to pet parents. Requires 2+ years as a professional groomer with leadership experience, strong communication, and the ability to work full-time including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years' experience as a professional groomer and/or completion of a technical grooming training program
- Strong leadership skills with 1-2 years previous experience of salon management or related field (preferred)
- High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required
- Expert knowledge of breeds and grooming standards
- Ability to work full time including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Excellent communication skills with pet parents and team members
