Job Summary
As Grooming Salon Leader at Petco, lead and manage grooming salon operations and team members while delivering expert grooming services to customers' pets. You will recruit, hire, train, and coach staff, create efficient grooming schedules, monitor salon performance metrics, collaborate with store management to drive growth, and ensure the safety and well-being of animals in care. You will independently perform professional grooming tasks (bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear and gland cleaning) and educate pet parents on grooming maintenance and home care, upholding breed standards and Petco policies to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years' experience as a professional groomer
- completion of a technical grooming training program
- Strong leadership skills
- 1-2 years previous experience of salon management, or related field, preferred
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills
- Expert knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming requirements, and breed-specific cuts
- Ability to perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning
