Job Summary
Lead grooming salon operations and grooming team while delivering expert grooming services to pets. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day salon workflows, recruiting and coaching staff, creating and managing grooming schedules, monitoring revenue and customer satisfaction metrics, and collaborating with store leadership to meet salon objectives. Perform professional grooming services (bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts/styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, gland cleaning) and educate pet parents on home grooming practices. Maintain equipment, ensure safety and sanitation, and uphold Petco’s grooming policies and standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical grooming expertise, excellent communication with pet parents, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure pets look and feel their best.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional grooming experience or completion of a technical grooming training program
- Strong leadership skills, with at least 1-2 years of salon management or related supervisory experience
- High level of customer service and ability to coach and develop a team
- Expert knowledge of dog breeds, grooming requirements, and breed-specific cuts
- Ability to manage scheduling, inventory, and salon operations
- Availability to work full-time including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Adherence to safety, sanitation, and company policies
