Job Summary
Grooming Salon Leader at Petco oversees day-to-day grooming salon operations and leads the grooming team while delivering expert grooming services to pets. Responsibilities include managing schedules, recruiting/training staff, coaching performance, driving salon performance and revenue, ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and staying current with grooming techniques and breed standards. Requires proven grooming expertise and leadership experience, with the ability to manage a team, coach entry-level to professional groomers, and collaborate with store management to meet salon objectives. Position emphasizes owner-style leadership, coaching, and adherence to Petco policies in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a professional groomer and/or completion of a technical grooming training program
- 1-2 years of previous salon management experience (preferred)
- strong leadership and people-management skills
- excellent communication with pet parents and grooming team
- expert knowledge of dog breeds and grooming standards
- ability to perform professional grooming services (bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, gland cleaning)
- availability to work full time including weekends/evenings/holidays
- high attention to detail and safety, animal welfare focus
