Job Summary
Bathe dogs of all breeds, coat types, and sizes according to hospital standards, properly shampooing, conditioning, rinsing, towel drying, and blow drying pets while ensuring their comfort. Brush and de-shed coats to prepare animals for grooming services, safely restrain and handle pets using low-stress techniques, and assist the groomer with pre- and post-appointment tasks. Clean ears, trim nails, and perform other bathing-related services while maintaining sanitation of the salon, tubs, kennels, and equipment. Recognize and communicate skin abnormalities, parasites, or health concerns to the medical team, and support patients with medical conditions or behavioral issues. Work Monday through Thursday from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm at this AAHA-accredited full-service veterinary hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with dogs and cats
- Ability to work collaboratively with groomers, veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Dependable, team-oriented, and able to follow instructions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to safely lift and assist in lifting dogs and cats weighing up to 130 pounds
- Ability to safely handle energetic, nervous, elderly, or medically compromised animals
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment around water, noise, pet hair, cleaning products, and animal odors
- Consistent full-time schedule
- Monday – Thursday schedule
- 7:45 am – 5:30 pm schedule
- No weekend hours
