Job Summary
Petco Grooming role focusing on professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning. Maintain a safe, clean grooming area; adhere to Petco's grooming policies; provide exceptional customer service to pet parents; educate on at-home grooming maintenance; support others as needed and uphold high standards of animal care and safety. Requires proficiency with grooming tools (clippers, blades, scissors, brushes, dryers), knowledge of breed-specific grooming requirements, and the ability to work under supervision with potential mentoring by Grooming Salon Leader or Store General Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or previous experience as a professional groomer and/or completion of a technical grooming training program
- High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required
- Latitude for independent judgement and problem solving in routine to moderately complex situations
- Results-driven with commitment to productivity and ownership of role in the grooming salon
- Strong attention to detail and breed-specific grooming knowledge
- Excellent communication with pet parents and grooming team
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the grooming schedule
