Job Summary
Petco Groomer (Pet Stylist) responsible for delivering expert-level professional grooming services: bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning, while prioritizing pet safety and comfort. Role includes educating pet parents on grooming maintenance, maintaining a clean and sanitary salon, following Petco policies, and potentially training or supervising entry-level trainees in the absence of a Grooming Salon Leader. Requires the ability to interact professionally with customers, adhere to breed standards, operate grooming instruments (clippers, blades, shears, brushes, dryers), and work under supervision with potential career growth into leadership or mentoring roles; must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays in a physical indoor grooming environment.
Required Qualifications
- High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required
- Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or previous experience as a professional groomer and/or completion of a technical grooming training program
- Latitude for independent judgement and problem solving in routine to moderately complex situations with some guidance
- Results-driven with commitment to productivity and ownership of role in the grooming salon
- Strong attention to detail and breed-specific grooming knowledge
- Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
