Job Summary
The Pet Stylist/Groomer is responsible for providing expert-level professional grooming services to pets, including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning, while prioritizing safety and comfort. The role involves interacting with pet parents, delivering high-quality grooming tailored to coat type and breed standards, maintaining a clean and sanitized grooming area, using grooming instruments (clippers, blades, shears, brushes, and dryers), educating pet parents on at-home care, and supporting grooming team structures as needed. Opportunities for career growth within the grooming salon and adherence to Petco policies and standards are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or previous experience as a professional groomer and/or completion of a technical grooming training program
- High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required
